It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William Everett Kennedy, of Medford, Oregon, who passed away on September 10, 2025 at the age of 90. An open house for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Prestige Arbor Place, 3150 Juanipero Way, Medford.
William “Bill” was born on May 12, 1935 in Junction City, Oregon to Ernest and Ruth Kennedy. Bill spent most of his childhood in Junction City and North Bend then moved to Medford in 1952.
He graduated from Medford High School and earned his degree in Journalism from the University of Wyoming. Bill (or Crater Bill as he was known in the auto parts world) owned and operated Crater Auto Supply and Medford Paint Center.
Bill married Beverly Ann Michaud in 1957. Bill and his Bride, Bev, shared 68 years of love and companionship. In their retirement they enjoyed taking trips in their motorhome to visit family all over the United States. They also enjoyed taking large groups of business associates, family and friends on trips to Hawaii every year.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend, known for his kindness, sense of humor and love of adventure. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed rafting, fishing, camping and backpacking. Bill also loved spending time in the kitchen and was known for his love of making eggs benedict. He also enjoyed spending his time making BBQ Sauce to raise money for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Bev, 2 daughters Debra Welch (Ben), Terri Briggs (David), son Brad Kennedy (Kathy), grandchildren, Tara and Matt Welch, David and Jackson Briggs, James and John Nelson, 14 great grandchildren and his brother, Montee.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Ruth, his brother Ernest Jr and his sister Catherine.
Contributions in Bill’s honor can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Bristol Hospice - Rogue Valley.
