On July 16, 2024, Susan Louise Tolner passed from her earthly home into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Susan was a Jill of all trades, most notably learned from her dad. She attended cosmetology school, became a phlebotomist, and then maintained a career as a well-respected administrator in the nationally ranked Cardiac Cath Lab at Asante hospital. She had a love for crafting beautiful cutting boards and the like with exotic hardwoods from around the world and was known by all for her delicious baked goods. Susan enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb capable of growing just about anything to its full potential and she was an avid reader. More importantly, she loved her family and friends with a love that could move mountains. Her warm and generous spirit was felt by anyone she encountered. To quote her grandson, "Nana had the gift of making everyone she ever met feel like they were loved and cared for and like they had known each other for years." Her presence here will never be replaced, she will be immeasurably missed until our blessed reunion in Heaven one day soon.
She is survived by her husband Rod Thompson, her daughter Ashely Coleman and grandson Leviticus, her son Steven Thompson and daughter in-love Kayli, her nephew Shane Troutman, his wife Kathryn and their two children Willow and Jameson. Her siblings: Jacque Tyszka, Belinda Brubaker, Debbie Osborn, Donna Vaternick (Paul), Donald Tolner (Brandee), Joyce Wilson (Kelly). Aunts, Uncle, Nieces and Nephews.
"My sin-oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!"
~ Horatio G. Spafford (Hymn: It is Well)
"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." - Titus 2:13
