Robin ReNay Petersen (Palmer), age 70, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Medford, Oregon. She was born on July 15, 1955, in Bandon, Oregon, to her parents Stanley and Jane Palmer.
In 1959, Robin and her family moved to Medford, Oregon where her father accepted a job with Safeway, a company her mother would also join and retire from. She attended Washington Elementary, McLoughlin Junior High, Medford Mid High, and finally Medford Senior High School, graduating in 1973.
Soon after graduation she began working at Safeway, but her passion for beauty led her to attend beauty school. She started her career at The Medford Center and eventually opened her own business, The Razors Edge, on Pine Street in the heart of Central Point. Robin's career as a hairdresser and barber spanned over 40 years, during which she formed lasting friendships with many of her clients.
She cherished her family and the time they spent together. Robin enjoyed preparing meals and finding loving gifts to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. She found joy in caring for her grandchildren and never missed a special event or milestone. If she wasn’t with her family, she was often out in her garden tending to her flowers, harvesting her fruits and veggies, and collecting eggs from her chickens. She loved her cat, Lenny, and spoiled her chickens. Robin was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making an assortment of gifts for her children and grandchildren. Every year you could count on a new robe or pajamas for Christmas.
Robin is survived by her children, Hillary (Scott) Toney and Richard (Jenna) Petersen, as well as her five grandchildren, Eric Toney (17), Sam Toney (14), Elleanor Petersen (3), Daphne Petersen (1), and Judah Petersen (8 months). She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Jane Palmer.
A memorial service to celebrate Robin's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Mountain Church in Medford, Oregon (1 East Main Street), where she attended.
