Monica Hilda Stieber

Monica Hilda Stieber passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson's disease on February 4, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1937, in London, England, to Joseph Aloysius McGettrick and Dorothy Agnes McGettrick. The second of three sisters, Monica grew up in a lovely family.

Monica's young adult life in London was busy, where she had a budding career; however, a romance began when she met her husband-to-be, an American stationed with the Army in Germany, on leave in London. They corresponded by mail for several months. She accepted a one-way ticket to America, came to San Diego, California, and married her surviving husband, Richard Allen Stieber. They spent the next 68 years building a beautiful family that they cherished, and who will miss her beyond measure.

Monica was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was grounded in her family and faith. She loved her career and coworkers, was very creative, and loved gardening, reading, knitting, traveling the world, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a Master Gardener and volunteered as a SMART Reading tutor at Jackson Elementary and was a devoted parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Monica was preceded in death by her sister Josephine Isgan. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her sister, Maureen Isgan; daughters, Sabrina Stieber and Christina Baker; her grandson, Trevor Baker; and many relatives and extended family.

A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford, Oregon, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11 a.m.
