Marvin Gene Evans was born August 26, 1934 in Salinas, California and passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home in Central Point, Oregon, where he resided for the past 13 years.
Marvin served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Radio Man 1st Class. He was in the San Jose, California reserve police force and retired in 1983 as a District Sales Manager for Frito Lay.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, playing pool and serving in his church, where he held the office of a High Priest. He was a Boy Scout leader, a Sunday school teacher and employment counselor.
He married his long-time companion, Joyce L. McFarland in 1958 in Reno, Nevada and was later sealed in the Oakland Temple in 1966.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce L. McFarland Evans; two daughters, Allison Evans of Bandon, Oregon and Caitlin Evans Seaman of Medford, Oregon; and one daughter-in-law, Sandy Evans Cable of California; a son Robin W. Evans preceded him in death. He has 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
