Former Brookings resident Maria Elena Young, 71, of Medford, died June 3, 2014, in Medford.
She was born June 20, 1942, in Westwood, California, to Gabriel and Bertha Perez.
Maria married Brian Young June 11, 1966, in San Mateo, California.
Maria drove a bus for many years in Brookings. Her hobbies included reading.
Survivors include her sons Brian David of Portland and Kevin of Brookings; sisters Bernice of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Connie of Lakeview, and Carol of Rogue River; brothers Joe of Central Point, and Richard of Anderson, California. Also surviving are two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Brian Young; and son Raymond Young.
The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 820 County Road. Committal to follow the service at W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery, 1035 Seventh Street, in Brookings.
