Luella Maxine Hartwell was born July 3, 1919, to Edgar and Ruth Fowler near Beloit, Kansas. In 1934, the family all moved to Speed, Kansas. In 1936 the family then moved to Ashland, Oregon on a farm and dairy on Helman Street. On July 3, 1937, she married Kenneth Hartwell. He worked in sawmills and later was a mechanic. In 1958 the family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Kenneth worked in garages and Luella worked in a laundry and dry cleaners. They managed an apartment complex for 5 years. In 1986 they moved back to the valley and retired. Kenneth passed away in 1996 after 59 years as a loving husband. Luella is survived by a son Donald and his wife Donna Hartwell of Medford, Oregon, sister Carol Heinzman of Medford, Oregon, grandchildren Dawn Marie Wick of Wheatland, California, Jayme Hartwell of Klamath Falls, Oregon, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, son Leland, brothers, Russell, Chet, Robert, Clifford, Lowell, and Harold "Ben" Fowler, and sisters Esther Svaren and Marie Williams. At her request, no services will be held at this time.
