Harold Louis Icenhower

May 14, 1939 — June 7, 2014

Harold Louis Icenhower, 75, went home to be with our Heavenly Father, June 7, 2014 at Howard Prairie Lake, Oregon.

Harold was born in Oklahoma in 1939, moving with his family to Lakeview Oregon in 1944. Harold graduated from Lakeview high school, attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, Oregon State and Southern Oregon University. Harold and Dorothy were married August 15, 1959 at the Ashland Assembly of God Church.

The son of a timber faller, Harold grew up in Lakeview, Oregon and spent 18 years working in the timber industry. Foreseeing changes in the timber industry, he took accounting classes at Southern Oregon State College and transitioned from a blue collar job to a white collar career as a tax consultant and financial advisor. Since 1993 he owned and operated his own business, Icenhower's Tax and Financial Services.

Harold loved to go fishing, camping, sudoku, gardening, walks with his dog Angel, and talking to his clients, friends at church and family gatherings. He was an American Red Cross blood donor of 6 gallons, saving an estimated 147 lives. He was a Gideon Bible distributer; spoke at the Gospel Mission; conducted Life Group meetings in his home and Greeter at the Medford Nazarene Church. In the past 5 years he and his wife have traveled on Nazarene Gospel Mission trips to El Salvador and Guatemala where his grandson Colton Cheney joined them. He loved winning the lost through providing them with the Word of God.

Harold believed the old adage that nothing is certain but death and taxes. Harold's son John and daughter Linda will continue opperating the business as he did.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Lynn; his sister, Virginia (Gary) Moore; brother Stephen (Tracy); sister-in-law Dorothy and Doris Icenhower; his daughter, Frances (Russ) Batzer; his son John (Tammy); and his daughter Linda Icenhower; seven grandchildren, David and Ryan Offenbacher, Dustin, Colton and Josie Cheney, Alex and Jackson Batzer; one great grandson, Caden Offenbacher.

Brothers Richard, Maurice and Joseph, parents Lee Roy and Emma preceded Harold in death.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene's World Missions Work and Witness Fund or the Nazarene's Roosevelt School Food Bag Project Fund.
