George Lester Evans

George Lester Evans, 95, of Central Point, OR passed Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home. He was born Sept. 28, 1920 in Bloomfield, MO to Thomas Jefferson & Addie Ann(Chastain) Evans. In 1943 he married Marjorie May Smith who survives. George served in the US Army during WWII in the 81st general division. George was the Postmaster at the Central Point Post Office for 27years. He and Marjorie were active in the foster parent program. George liked to golf, go fishing and elk hunting with his boys.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie, four sons; Garry, Larry, Steven and Tom, 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00pm, Friday July 15, 2016 at the Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, OR. He will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. www.memorygardensmortuary.com
