Gary Stephen Mollner was born August 16, 1953 in Seattle WA and passed at age 69 just one week after his bday, on August 25, 2022. His parents were Richard and Frances Mollner. On August 24, 2022 after years of fighting COPD and Emphysema, he spent a day of laughter with one of his dearest friends Darlene Harris. As Dar prepared burgers and tater tots for dinner at his request, he went today down for a nap; when God decided his fight was over, and his time here on earth had come to an end. Gary is survived by his daughter Jenesia, his son Destin, and son Michael. His grandchildren Kyle, Jordyn, Mason, Delaney, and Elyjah. He had a special bond with his grandson Mason, as he looked after him when he was young, and was the closest thing to a father that Mason had. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in life by his parents, infant brother Ricky, and sisters Linda and Gloria.
Gary had a passion for music, and his days always involved it. If he wasn’t playing himself he was listening to it. He taught himself to play guitar at 13 years old and never stopped playing till he ran out of air. Early in life, he was in construction until a back injury took him out of the game. He was a true “jack of all trades” and he loved to tinker and fix things. He was a humble man, and made use of of anything and everything he came across in life. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure he often said. Gary loved people and never asked anyone of anything. He would bend over backwards if it meant making a difference in someone’s life. He was also a prankster, and always found a way to smile/laugh, make others smile/laugh even during times that felt grim. He wished many of his friends and family a good morning and good night daily via Facebook messenger, and I know how much we all miss his texts. He spent his last days sitting outside playing ball with Ripley, (man’s best companion) and listening to music when his energy allowed it. Music was his soul, and the words in songs were his means of communication.
Gary made a friend everywhere he went, and always tried to see the good in everything. He always said when his time is up, that he didn’t want people to mourn his death, but to celebrate the life he lived. Gary signed every letter, or card with “Happy Trails” and all of those who loved him will think of him every time they hear that.
There will be two memorials to come in the future so his friends and family can honor his memory. One will be in a Jacksonville FL spring 2023 and the other in Seattle WA summer 2023. His daughter Jenesia will make arrangements and let everyone know when the time comes. If you have any pictures or videos of Gary that you want to include in the memorials please send to 3881 Mallard Ln Medford OR 97504 or reach out via email
