Eileen B. Kaufer was born February 24, 1918 to Edmund and Martha Kaufer in St. Paul, Minn. She married Malcolm John Olsen on January 12, 1946. They moved to Medford, Ore. that same year, bought their first home, and established "Olsenville", where they raised six children. Together they founded Tic Toc Time Shop and then Black Bird Jewelry.
Eileen was always up for an adventure, whether it be learning a line dance, swimming with sting rays, or putting up with the managere of pets her children had growing up; skunks, crows, a fox, just to name a few. She was the epitome of a wife, standing by her husband and supporting every dream he reached for, whether she agreed or not!
In 1998, Eileen and her children grieved the loss of a husband and father. They were blessed with new love in 2006 when Eileen married Robert Follett, a family friend of 70 years.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Mike (Diane), Chris (Marilyn), Kevin (Karen); daughters, Carol (Ted) Acker and Beverly (Mark) Carlton; step-daughters, Nancy Pfaff, Vicki Dwyer, Bonnie Follett, Peggy Smith, and Linda Luchau; brother, Wally Kaufer; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Malcolm Olsen; son, Gary Olsen; grandson, Tyler Carlton; and brother, Bud Kaufer.
Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Arturo Ramirez officiating. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Visitation will begin 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, prior to the Recitation of Holy Rosary at 5:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Ln., Medford OR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Vincent De Paul, PO Box 1663, Medford, OR 97501, or the Tyler Carlton Memorial Scholarship fund at South Medford High School, 1551 Cuningham Ave., Medford OR 97501.
