Central Point, OR

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carmen Cano Calderon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Carmen was born on September 4, 1958 in San Joaquin, California. Carmen resided in Mendota during her childhood and early adult years. Carmen left us on July 22, 2025, at the age of 66 in Central Point, Oregon.

She is survived by her life partner, Tiburcio Rios, who stood by her side for 37 years, sharing countless memories and experiences that shaped their lives together. Carmen’s legacy continues through her daughter, Latanya Rios, as well as many step-children and grandchildren, whom she cared for and loved as her own.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Calderon and Carmen Cano Calderon, as well as her brothers James Acosta, Manuel Acosta, and Daniel Calderon.

Carmen was a loving sister to her brothers; Edward Calderon, Alfred Calderon, Alex Calderon, David Calderon and her sisters; Mary Martinez, Xochilt Zimmerly, Dolores Calderon, Olivia Calderon, and Maria Avonce. She missed them tremendously and made daily calls to numerous family members and friends to simply hear their voices and see how their day was going, a phone call now missed by all. Her legacy will continue through numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth, kindness, love and her powerful voice yelling "LATANYA".

Her family was her greatest treasure. Carmen took pride in nurturing her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own. She embraced every moment and taught her family the importance of togetherness, resilience, and unconditional love.
