Barbara Jean Kelley

June 27, 1939 — December 7, 2025

Medford, OR

Barbara Jean Kelley (Coker), 86, of Medford, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2025.

Barbara was born on June 27th, 1939 in Madera, California, to Oscar and Louise Kelley. One of Barbara’s proud accomplishments was her work at NASA. Barbara worked for many years for Jackson County and made many friends during her time there. While working at the County, Barbara raised 5 children that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Denine and great granddaughter, baby Mayzie. She is survived by her children, Jonathan (Debbie) Coker, Judee (Chad) Scarola, Laura Coker, and Twilah Flanagan; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mama was known for her kindness, compassion, and deep devotion to her family. She made friends easily. There aren’t enough words to describe her. Mama exuded loveliness. She had the best sense of humor. Everyone wanted to be around her and she welcomed all. She loved yellow roses, lighthouses, singing gospel music and the coast. Mom was the last of 9 siblings. She missed them and her own mama and daddy so very much. We will miss her every day but take comfort that she is with her loved ones. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved daughter, Denine who was taken far too soon. We would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to her caregiver, companion and granddaughter, Lindsay Copeland who cared for her nearly every day over the last 3 years. Thank you to her team from Providence hospice.

A memorial service will be held January 3rd, 2026 from 11 am-1pm at 3955 S. Stage Rd at the club house in her community. Her service will be open house style and a potluck lunch will be served.
