Regine Pearl Wearne, born Jan. 12, 1929,, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Carl and Ruby (Johnson) Mark, the eldest of eight children, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Following the dust bowel in the Midwest in summer of 1936, her family the consisting of only three children, headed West. Their realtives in Iowa were afraid for the family facing the Indians and the West. After exploring parts of the Northwest, the family settled in Medford. Regina attended Griffin Creek Elentary School, graduated from Medford High School in 1947, she went on to attend one year at Southern Oregon College. On Sept. 23, 1949 , she married William John WearneIII , at the First Presbyterian Church in Medford. Her husband was soon recalled into the Navy during the Korean conflict and their first years of married life were as a military family. Regina is survived by her daughters, Ruby Irene (Ed) Ralls of Leona, Ark, Belva (Robert)Collier, of Casper, Wyo., and Nan (Phil) Bird, of Lake Oswego, Ore.; Sons, William John (Taryn) Wearne IV, of Reno, Nev., and Todd Eli Wearne, of Medford, Ore.; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Gary J. Mark of Aloha, Ore., and Dennis Mark, of Mission Viejo, Claif.; sisters, Carlene M. Pratt, and Danielle Wing, of Medford, Ore. Regina was preceded in death by, parents Carl and Ruby Mark, twins, Jon and Albert Mark, and Carl Mark III. Regina was a Worthy Matron and Life member of Adarel Chap., No 3, O.E.S.; She was appointed and served on manyh Grand Chapters and committees, she was past royal matron of Roxy Ann Court Order of Amaranth, she held membership in and was active in white shrine and bahari. She was a past president of Medford Emblem Club #420. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of the Medford Senior Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and had just begun a term on the Church Council Committee. Regina enjoyed sewing clothing for her children and great grandchildren, everything from making all three of her daughters wedding dresses to Christmas nighties for the grandchildren. Regina worked in the Valley Pear industry holding jobs at SOS, Associated Fruit Company, and was employed at Harry and David at the time of her death. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church fireside room.
