Mona Malinda "Linda" Ashby

Mona Malinda (Linda) Ashby, 85, of Medford, Ore. passed on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She was born to Gustav and Louise (Wiederick) Tank on September 22, 1925 in Telegraph Creek, MT and raised on the plains of Montana. Mona married Joseph (Bill) William Ashby on December 25, 1942 in Carlton, Ore. They returned to Medford after living in Brookings for 22 years. She enjoyed playing the accordion, embroidery, canning and gardening. Mona attended the Community Baptist Church in Brookings. Visiting friends and family was a great joy in her life. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Barbara (Joe) Brenhaug, of Medford, Ore., Beverly (Bob) Petkevis, of Fairbanks, Alaska; Karen (Ed) Redfield, of Medford, Ore; sons, Art Ashby of Tigard, Ore.; Michael Ashby of Jacksonville, Ore., sister, Alice McDaniel of Corinth, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00am at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. www.memorygardens.com
